Emergency Response Officer Basic

This course is intended for those who are appointed as an emergency response officer (ERO) within their organization. An ERO is trained to provide first aid, to combat a starting fire and to start and supervise an evacuation.

This course is intended for those who are appointed as an emergency response officer (ERO) within their organization. An ERO is trained to provide first aid, to combat a starting fire and to start and supervise an evacuation. 

The 2-day basic course is given according to the standards of the NIBHV and consists of two modules:

  • First aid
  • Firefighting & evacuation

During the course you’ll learn the basics of administering first aid, dealing with small fires and the general procedures in the event of an evacuation. For specific business risks (e.g. working at heights) an additional course or instruction will be required.

  • Extinguishing a small fire

Teaching material

The study book Basic Emergency Response Officer is sent in advance. We advise students to study the First Aid module for the first day of the course and the Firefighting & Evacuation module for the second day. At the end of each course day a theory exam will take place to complete the module.

Course duration and times

The course covers 2 days. The course times are from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. Coffee / tea and a lunch are included.
